Have a Ferrari 195 Inter. About two dozen were made in 1950. All had a 2.3 litre V12 (no, not a thing commonly seen) and rhd.
They were custom bodied according to whichever coachbuilder you fancied. You fancy a Ghia, from before they became a badge on a Fiesta? There’s one being auctioned on Saturday

At first I thought this was either an early or late Aston Martin DB3 (with maybe a hint of early Volvo grille) before I read the title after looking at the thumbnail.
I quite like the look of the Ferrari but can’t bring myself to say I’d buy it if I had the cash over another car of the period.

They are quite similar aren’t they?

I think to be fair quite a few were very similar especially when it came to coachbuilders who had a particular style and used it for most of their designs. Like today with the Aston Martin-esque grille being used not just on almost all Fords but other marques.

I can’t find a single video of how the thing sounds. The Italians keep dubbing crappy stock music over the engine note. COME ON.

Yes, there was a kind of period look as it were. Here’s a 1950s Delahaye:
Note that like the Ferrari they were rhd.

Were they all RHD or were they down to the coachbuilder or buyer optioned? I believe Sweden was still RHD at the time and may of been one or two others in that neck of the woods.

I think rhd was associated with luxury cars at the time. Delahaye never made a lhd model until almost the end when they offered them in America. Note that the Ferrari is rhd too.
Interestingly Sweden used lhd cars but rhd commercials. I think people were anticipating a change to the dark side which they had been talking about for forty years and bought lhd cars in anticipation.
In the run up to Dagen-H bus owners were obliged to buy models which could easily be converted to lhd and right hand doors.
Yes, “right” begins with a H (Högar) in Swedish contrary to all logic and expectations of a European language.
